THE OLD DUST BAND plays Old Time, Folk, and Contemporary music in the Topeka, KS, area. Members include: Anthony Mioni on vocals, guitar, and harmonica; James Dagenais on vocals, banjo, and guitar; and Tom O’Brien on stand-up bass.
 Anthony Mioni is a graphic designer by day and, to borrow a phrase from Dylan, a “song and dance man” by night. Having 5 kids keeps him pretty busy, but there’s always time for music. Anthony takes great consolation in these words of G.K. Chesterton: “Just as a bad man is nevertheless a man, so a bad poet is nevertheless a poet.” He likes to apply this wisdom to about everything he does in life. By the way, you can call him Tony.
 James Dagenais’ last name is not as hard to pronounce as it looks (it’s day-dja-nay). James has been playing guitar and writing songs longer than he cares to remember. When The Old Dust Band formed and needed a banjo player, James said, “Sure, why not.” We’re hoping he’s as agreeable to learning the hurdy-gurdy next. (But don’t tell him I said so, yet.)
 Tom O’Brien’s life is all about precision. His tool and die machines can cut a hair from your head in 32 strains. He’s built his own steel house (arches and all), which you can see in future issues of all reputable Home and Garden magazines. It’s in this steel structure that The Old Dust Band makes its magic every Tuesday night. Tom’s smooth bass playing is the backbone of our sound, and it’s his tight rhythm that brings it all together.
